I wonder if this can be a topic to improve former software and maybe develop some new algorithm. We have the NEED to automatically recognized yeast mother cell and count the daughters. The daughters emerge from different places around the mother cell. There may be a number of mother cells to be tracked down in one single image. This is mainly picture processing, but it deals with a great many problems. How to distinguish mother and daughter? How to track them dynamically? How to align mother with its own daughter? And so on ..........
What we, human can see requires a great mount of visual commuting. Till now we are not able to decipher how brain work, are there any chances that we can mimic our own brain to process images, or are we intelligent enough to build a whole new system to recognize what we can easily see and tell.
