Last year, due to the sudden epidemic, the 20th graduates failed to participate in the degree-granting ceremony, leaving regrets. On May 4 this year, it was the May Fourth Youth Day and the Peking University Anniversary. The school specially held the ceremony and invited alumni to go home. The graduates of TangLab also participated and returned to the laboratory to celebrate this important moment with everyone.
After the ceremony, graduates returned to the laboratory to get to know and communicate with the newly joined students, chatting about the past and new interesting things in the laboratory. After finishing a day of work, the Tang Lab family had a dinner and chat together, scrambled, chatted with each other, and enthusiastically connected with the members who could not be there due to various reasons. Among them, an elder graduate from Denmark made a video call to congratulate everyone on their happy graduation and express their longing for the laboratory after a long absence.
During the dinner, everyone talked about academics, ideals, and life. They had a good time. They also talked about the troubles encountered after entering the social work and the difficulties in the research. Professor Tang also talked about his ideals. He hopes that the environment can be more diversified, like “hundred flowers bloom”, and students can explore whatever they are interested in. The graduates who left the Tang Lab family are engaged in various fields of work and continued to explore their own paths in life, maybe the best embodiment of "Diversity".
