The application for the 2020 Summer Camp activities of the Center for Quantitative Biology of Peking University will start from now on, and the specific dates and arrangements of the activities will be notified separately.
The Center for Quantitative Biology of Peking University (formerly the Theoretical Biology Center of Peking University) was established in 2001 with the proposal of Mr. Li Zhengdao and the strong support of Peking University. The purpose of the center is to use the multidisciplinary advantages of Peking University to promote the interdisciplinary integration of quantitative disciplines such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, and information and life sciences, to find quantitative laws in complex biological systems, and to become scientific research and talent training in this frontier field International center.
The center mainly conducts research in the following directions: complexity principles and laws in living systems; systems biology; synthetic biology; computational biology; physical biology; artificial intelligence and biological systems; quantitative biological technology; single-molecule biophysics; Bioinformatics; complex disease networks and drug design.
The center has a strong and dynamic faculty from different academic backgrounds, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changjiang Distinguished Professors, winners of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars. The members of the center are distributed in frontier interdisciplinary research institutes, physics colleges, chemistry colleges, life colleges, mathematics colleges, engineering colleges, and McGovern Institute for Brain Research.
