The U.S. Department of Energy Delegation visits the CQB.
On June 17th, the U.S. Department of Energy Delegation, led by Dr. Cherry Murray, the DOE Office of Science Director, visited the Center for Quantitative Biology. Prof. Chao Tang, the Director of the CQB, Prof. Qi Ouyang and leaders of key scientific projects from the U.S. attended the event.
During the visit, Prof. Chao Tang welcomed Dr. Cherry Murray and her delegation. He briefly introduced the history of the center and recent achievements in scientific researches. And then, Wei Ping, Song Chen, Liu Feng and Qi Zhi presented their research directions and recent progress to the guests. All members of the U.S. delegation showed great interests and enthusiasm on the researches of CQB. Dr. Cherry Murray expressed that her visit to the center has provided a good opportunity for enhancing exchanges and cooperation between both sides in the area of advanced interdisciplinary studies. In the end, Prof. Tang and Dr. Murray agreed that academics from two institutions should learn from each other and collaborate for more achievements in the future.
The other Delegation members are senior leaders from the Office of Science programs, including Basic Energy Sciences, Biological and Environmental Research, and Nuclear Physics etc.
