The second conference “Breaking Barriers, from Physics to Biology” was successfully held in Xi’an on June 13rd-16th, 2014. During the conference, nearly forty scholars from around the world and a few graduate students got together and discussed the opportunities and challenges for physicists who are working on biological problems. They also use this occasion to celebrate Prof. Albert Libchaber’s 80th birthday and his inspiring and productive career in science. Prof. Tang gave a talk titled “Cell fate transformation”, Xin and Shanshan participated and presented posters in the meeting.
