SIDERITE Database Annual Update (2025)

Dear SIDERITE users and the siderophore research community,

We are pleased to announce that the SIDERITE database (Siderophore Information Database) has completed its 2025 annual update (up to December 31, 2025).

Note: If your page is not the latest version, please clear the website's cookies and refresh the page.

This update marks a significant milestone:

The database now contains more than 1,000 known siderophore structures for the first time!

Main highlights of this update:

100 new siderophore structures have been addedAmong them:58 structures were newly discovered and reported in 202542 structures were previously overlooked or missed in earlier curation roundsThe database now contains significantly more comprehensive coverage of known microbial iron-chelating compounds.

We warmly invite all researchers, students, and professionals in the fields of microbiology, natural products chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, and related areas to make full use of the updated SIDERITE resource.

If you find any errors or missing informationIf you know of any siderophore structures (published or newly discovered) that are not yet included in the databaseplease feel free to contact us or submit the information through the “Upload Molecule” feature after “Similarity Search” on the website.

Important note: For each newly added or user-contributed siderophore structure, the corresponding siderophore detail page will clearly acknowledge the contributor(s) (with your name/institution ORCID/etc., as you prefer).
