2020-05-21 13:47:15

The 2019 Summer Camp of the Center for Quantitative Biology of Peking University will be held at Peking University from July 4th to 6th, 2019. The registration time is July 3rd 13:30-16:30. The application process will start on May 9, 2019.

The summer camp activities include visits, special reports, academic exchanges and teacher-student friendship activities. At the same time, the selection of graduate students for 2020 will be arranged.    The Center for Quantitative Biology of Peking University (formerly the Theoretical Biology Center of Peking University) was established in 2001 with the proposal of Mr. Li Zhengdao and the strong support of Peking University. The purpose of the center is to use the multidisciplinary advantages of Peking University to promote the interdisciplinary integration of quantitative disciplines such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, and information and life sciences, to find quantitative laws in complex biological systems.

The center conducts research in the following directions: complexity principles and laws in living systems; systems biology; synthetic biology; computational biology; physical biology; artificial intelligence and biological systems; quantitative biological technology; single-molecule biophysics; bioinformatics; complex disease networks and drug design.

The center has a strong and dynamic faculty from different academic backgrounds, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changjiang Distinguished Professors, Jie Qing and You Qing. The members of the center are distributed in frontier interdisciplinary research institutes, physics colleges, chemistry colleges, life colleges, mathematics colleges, engineering colleges, and McGovern Institute for Brain Research.
