With the rapid development of computational hardware and algorithms, computational biology is fast evolving into a more and more quantitative interdisciplinary field among physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics and medicine. The Worldwide Chinese Conference on Computational Biology aims to bring together the Chinese scientists in the field of computational biology, to share and push forward the cutting-edge research in the Chinese community of computational biology. The first session was successfully held at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences under the initiative of Zhang Zenghui and Professor Li Guohui in 2012; the second session was successfully held at Zhongshan University in Guangzhou in 2018; the third session will be held in August 2020 Held at Peking University on March 3-6, hosted by Peking University Center for Quantitative Biology, the conference website https://qbio.pku.edu.cn/CB2020.
The Center for Quantitative Biology (CQB) at PKU organizes annual international meetings of quantitative biology since 2000. In recognition of the increasing impact of computational biology, we are pleased to organize "The 3rd Worldwide Chinese Conference on Computational Biology" at Peking University in 2020, in the hope of promoting extensive discussions and collaborations for further development of the field. This conference will showcase the latest achievements of Chinese scientists in the fields of biocomputational simulation and theoretical biology in recent years, discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the current field, and discuss the future development direction and cooperation opportunities. The theme of the conference covers biomolecular simulation, computer-aided drug design, machine learning in biomolecular systems, theory and systems biology, etc. It takes the form of conference reports, invitation reports, selection reports and posters.
In view of the special situation of the current epidemic, if there are still risks or inconveniences in holding regular offline meetings, we will adopt the form of "online meetings" to ensure academic exchanges under the premise of safety. We warmly welcome relevant experts, colleagues, graduate students and friends in the theoretical and computational biology to actively contribute and come to this grand event!
