On November 22, the results of the newly elected academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2019 were announced. Seven people from Peking University have been selected, with PKU ranked first in the country for the number of elected academy members. Professor Chao Tang, Executive Dean of the Frontier Interdisciplinary Research Institute of Peking University and Director of the Center for Quantitative Biology, was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and became the first academician of physical biology.
