 摘  要:

In recent years, computational models and simulations have revolutionized the developmental biology of plants.  Microscopic images of living cells and tissues  including tagged molecules provide input data.  These data are used to construct models that simulate the observed processes. The use of models leads to an in-depth understanding of plant development and form. The talk will focus on two processes: phyllotaxis, the regular arrangement of plant organs that underlies the beauty of flowers, and leaf development.  In spite of the dramatic differences in the produced forms, both processes are united by a common morphogenetic mechanism involving the plant hormone auxin.
