Dr. Chen SONG was invited to attend the “Tsinghua Sanya International Mathematics Forum” and gave a talk on 12 Dec 2019. The talk was entitled “Lipid contact probability: an essential property of (membrane) proteins”, presenting the latest progress of one of our deep learning-based methods.
We organized a BPS (Biophysical Society) networking event, “Youth Workshop of Biophysics, Beijing“, at Peking University on 7 Dec 2019. It’s the first networking event of the biophysical society in China, and around 140 researchers and students participated in the events. The workshop was supported by BPS, CQB (Center for Quantitative Biology) and CLS (Peking-Tsinghua Center for Life Sciences).
Dr. Chen SONG was invited to participate in the “2019 International Workshop on Multiscale Biological Imaging” at Fudan University, Shanghai, on 8-10 Nov 2019. The workshop was organized by Prof. Jianpeng MA and Prof. Michael Levitt. Dr. Chen SONG delivered a talk entitled “Visualizing Ca2+ Permeation through the Ryanodine Receptor by Molecular Dynamics Simulations”, and chaired a session.
Dr. Chen SONG was invited to attend “The 6th Structural Biology Conference of China” and gave a talk entitled “Computational studies of mechanosensitive ion channels” at Jixi, Anhui on Oct 12, 2019.
Dr. Chen SONG was invited to give a talk at the “Nationwide Mechanics Forum for PhD Students” and chaired a session at the College of Engineering of Peking University on 22 Sep 2019.
Dr. Chen SONG was invited to visit the Sugita Lab at Riken, and delivered a seminar entitled “Computational Studies of Ca++-permeable channels” on 27 August.
We organized a summer workshop and school, “Theoretical and Computational Biology: from Molecules to Systems“, at Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Center for Interdisciplinary Sciences, 1-4 August 2019. Around 24 speakers and 80 members participated. Dr. Chen SONG, Dr. Xuhui HUANG, and Dr. Jinbo XU organized the event, and the whole SONG group volunteered in the organization.
Dr. Chen Song was invited to attend the 1st KIAS-Beijing Workshop on Biological Sciences at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study and gave a seminar entitled “How Do Calcium Ions Permeate through the Ryanodine Receptor 1” on 4 July 2019.
